Two states..
It is Polling time..the air is abuzz with anticipation.
India is the largest democracy, and all political groups across states go the distance to ensure that your vote gets cast with minimal inconvenience..
State 1 :
Weeks before the election, there are flyers and brochures from each political group about why its a great idea to vote, where your polling-booth would be, how to get there..
On the D-day, streets hitherto deserted would be flanked by supporters of one candidate or another, marking your way to the nearest booth — helping you with any issues so that you end up casting your precious vote !
State 2 :
Weeks before the election, an unobtrusive survey by a barely known NGO will gather your personal details.
On the D-day, when you finally hunt down your Polling booth after some (mis)directions, you are told that your vote has already been cast.
You are gifted with such thoughtful leaders who completely respect aam-aadmi’s time and lack of resources, so they arrange for your vote to get registered without you having to get out of the comfort of your home..
And we blame our leaders for not caring…..

what made you come up with a post on this all of a sudden? nice observation though!
Recall my blog name — Meanderings in reverie
I was mulling over my first voting experience a yr ago, and was wondering how different it would’ve been if I were voting from the other side of Tropic of Cancer !
And I’m so glad things weren’t that way…
